Nearly 16,000 square feet of buildings will be constructed as part of phase one, including a lodge for dining, medical care, and activities, as well as a year-round sleeping cabin that will accomodate up to 40 campers and staff. Improvements will also be made to the surrounding area including thousands of feet of paved trails, a sand beach, water and septic systems, and handicapped accessible outdoor activity areas such as a zipline, miniature golf course and archery range. Construction of this phase should take approximately 10 months and camp sessions shoud begin shortly after construction is complete.

Camp High Hopes is a year-round recreational facility exclusively designed and operated for people with special needs. The camp is a not-for-profit organization.
