Camp High Hopes

Jim’s Lounge raised $1,000 at its Annual Bike Ride held June 5th, 2011 in Sioux City.  Over 60 bicyclists and a half-dozen establishments along the route contributed to this year’s charity event.  Camp High Hopes is very thankful to the generosity of Jim’s Lounge and all of the people that participated and donated to this year’s bike ride.  This support will help the camp be one step closer to building the year-round camp in Sioux City for people with special needs.

Rachel, a 9-year old, raised over $40 at her lemonade stand located in Sioux City this week.  She had a custom made sign that showed her customers she was raising money for Camp High Hopes.  Rachel’s older brother T.J., also came out to help Rachel.  What a fun way to help the camp.  Thank you kids!!!

Ryan Hughes, the brother of future camper, Karlee of Dakota Dunes, SD raised $705- for the camp this May 10th by collecting donations in lieu of birthday gifts for himself.  What a great way to help his little sister fulfill her dream of one day attending the camp and an awesome way to help Camp High Hopes meet its goal of raising the money needed to build phase one of the camp.  Special thanks to Ryan and all his friends and family members for donating to Camp High Hopes in honor of Ryan’s 11th birthday.  Happy Birthday Ryan!

If you would like to collect donations for Camp High Hopes in lieu of your birthday gifts, it’s easy.  Prior to your birthday, just ask your friends and family to write a check to Camp High Hopes instead of giving you a birthday gift.  After you collect the checks, contact the camp and we will make arrangements to pick up what you have collected.  It’s that easy and a great way to get your friends and family involved in something that you support.  And a wonderful way to honor you on your birthday!

Fun & Free Sioux City Treasure Hunt to Support Camp High Hopes

On May 7th, we will be taking part in Gunderson’s Sioux City Diamond Dash – a one-day, real world treasure hunt through Sioux City in search of a $15,000 Ritani Diamond Ring.  Throughout the event, all collected donations will directly support Camp High Hopes and our mission to provide year-round camping experiences for children and adults with disabilities.
