- Health Care Manager – Posted 4/26/2012
Camp High Hopes, a brand new, 90-acre year-round special needs camp for youth and adults located within the city of Sioux City Iowa, is seeking a full-time, year-round Health Care Manager who holds a current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license and will be responsible for overseeing the health of our campers and our employees, as well as our Medical Center and Medical Policies. We are looking for a self motivated professional with leadership and organizational skills. Experience in caring for both children and adults with chronic illness/injury/physical and developmental disabilities is desired. The Health Care Manager must have general nursing functions, staff training capabilities, knowledge of special diets, infection control principals, physical assessments, standing orders, vital signs, medical terminology/abbreviations, inventory and purchasing capabilities for the Medical Center and the ability to create and maintain the camp’s Healthcare Manual and Treatment Procedures Manual per ACA and state requirements. This is a year-round position. Weekday, weekend, evening, and some overnight work is to be expected. This position will not be required to live onsite, thus housing is not included. Camp High Hopes, a brand new, 90-acre year-round special needs camp for youth and adults located within the city of Sioux City Iowa, is seeking a full-time, year-round Camp Program Director who is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (C.T.R.S.) that will manage, plan and deliver program activities and the direct care of campers and the development and management of the human resources needed to support the program and direct care model. Design and deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assist in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the Executive Director. We are looking for a self motivated professional with leadership and organizational skills. Experience in caring for both children and adults with chronic illness/injury/physical and developmental disabilities is desired. The Camp Program Director must have a CTRS, 3-5 years experience in administrative role(s) at a special needs camp/facility, 3-5 years experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for youth and adults with special needs, current instructional certification in program or related experience, current certification in first aid and CPR, and a valid driver’s license. This is a year-round position. Weekday, weekend, evening, and overnight work is to be expected. This position will be required to live onsite, thus family/single housing is included. - Program Activity Specialists – Posted 05/09/2012
Camp High Hopes, a brand new, 90-acre year-round special needs camp for youth and adults located within the city of Sioux City Iowa, is seeking full-time, year-round Program Activity Specialists who will further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of program activities at the camp and to serve as the onsite primary caregiver for special needs campers. Deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Manage the physical operation of the assigned program activity facilities and equipment. Responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills. Provides the daily care of each camper supervised including recognition of and assistance with personal health needs including assisting campers with activities of daily living. Experience in caring for both children and adults with chronic illness/injury/physical and developmental disabilities is desired. Program Activity Specialist must have current certification in at least one program activity (ie, challenge course, aquatic, waterfront, archery, fishing, nature, arts, crafts, bicycling, ball sports, etc.) or documented experience and training, current certification in first aid and CPR, valid driver’s license, must be a minimum of 18 years of age, must be a high school graduate. This is a year-round position. Weekday, weekend, evening, and overnight work is to be expected. This position will be required to live onsite, thus single housing is included.
